This was such a fun tour, the middle schoolers were engaged the whole time. The docents were excellent. We did some planned activities as well and they were fantastic! We carded and spun a little wool into bracelets and we are still wearing them months later. Educational, practical and fun!
Sheep to shawl is a fun and educational event, especially for knitters and fiber artists. The mill is huge, and it's interesting to tour each floor, as well as the other buildings.
We held a reception in the dye house. The staff was wonderful and very helpful. The experience was low stress. Staff was available for minor changes on the day of our reception. We highly recommend holding your event/receptions/party, etc. at this beautiful location.
Might have been a nice place to see if we didn't feel like we were being rushed. Got there at three and the girl at the desk was rude, and made us feel like we were inconveniencing her. Gave us a map, and told us so fast about how to get around the mill, and that was it. Basically said hurry up. From Oklahoma and wanted to some history. Didn't happen here.
We really enjoyed our self guided tour and seeing the many exhibits. The personal histories of area individuals was especially informative.
